Privacy policy
My Gravel Calculator is a set of static pages that do arithmetic in your browser. There are no accounts, no forms that submit anywhere, and no advertising. This page describes exactly what does and does not happen when you use the site.
Measurements you type stay on your device
Every calculation on this site — the gravel calculator, the topsoil calculator and the river rock calculator — runs as JavaScript inside your own browser. The lengths, widths, depths, densities and prices you enter are never transmitted to a server, never written to a database, and never saved between visits. Closing the tab discards them. The site has no backend to send them to.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4, supplied by Google LLC, to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It is the only third-party service loaded by these pages. The Google tag runs on every page and records the ordinary things an analytics tool records: the page you viewed, the referring page or search that brought you, an approximation of your location derived from your IP address (city-level at best), the type of device and browser you are using, and the general shape of your session such as how long you stayed and which pages you moved between.
Google Analytics sets cookies (or similar browser storage) to distinguish one visitor from another and to group page views into sessions. Google states that IP addresses used for Analytics are anonymised and are not stored in Analytics reports. Analytics data collected here is retained for fourteen months and then deleted automatically.
The values you type into the calculators are not passed to Analytics. No custom event carries your measurements, and no calculation result is recorded.
If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and most browsers offer tracking protection or content blocking that will stop the tag loading. The calculators work perfectly well with the analytics tag blocked — nothing on this site depends on it.

No advertising
This site carries no advertisements. There is no ad network code, no ad-personalisation tag, no affiliate tracking and no retargeting pixel anywhere in these pages. Should that ever change, this policy will be updated before any advertising code is added, and the change will be reflected in the date at the top of the page.
Other data we do not collect
- No accounts, logins or profiles — there is nothing to register for.
- No newsletter, contact form or comment system, so no email addresses are collected.
- No fingerprinting scripts, session recorders, heatmaps or A/B testing tools.
- No fonts, icons, images or scripts loaded from third-party CDNs; everything except the Google Analytics tag is served from this domain.
- No local storage of your inputs, no saved calculation history.
Hosting
The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the network requests needed to deliver a page to you and keeps operational logs for security and performance purposes. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy terms rather than by this policy.
Links to other sites
Where these pages link elsewhere — for example to Google's opt-out tool — the linked site's own privacy policy applies once you leave. We do not control and are not responsible for how other sites handle your data.
Children
This is a general-audience tool for planning landscaping materials. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, beyond the analytics described above.
Your choices and rights
Because no personal data is collected or stored by this site directly, there is nothing held here to access, correct or delete. Analytics data sits with Google under its own controls; blocking the tag, as described above, prevents its collection entirely. Depending on where you live, you may have rights over data Google processes, which you exercise through Google's own tools.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. Continued use of the site after that date means you accept the updated policy.
